Milkweed was born from a simple idea: children’s clothing should grow — reducing the burden on parents by constantly replacing and re-homing outgrown clothes. 

Every piece is handmade using only the best natural fabrics, chosen for their softness, durability, and ability to stand the test of time. Our designs are created with thoughtful details — adjustable features and generous fits that let each garment evolve through multiple stages of growth.

The name Milkweed reflects transformation — a reminder of how we support it and celebrate it. As parents, we’re there to nurture and support our little ones as they grow. Clothing shouldn’t stand in the way of that — it should support it. Our hope is to create clothing that moves through those moments with you — made to last, made to adapt, and made to grow in.

We believe in slowing down, in choosing fewer things made better, and in returning to the simple joys of nature — again and again — without having to constantly replace what we outgrow.

About the Founder

Milkweed was founded by Jen — mama, maker, and the hands behind every stitch — the shop is an extension of a family legacy of women who loved and lived through sewing.

It all started with my grandmother, a seamstress and suit tailor. She would sew matching outfits for my sister and me during every holiday season. As a child, I wasn’t always thrilled — but as I grew older, I came to deeply admire her skill, creativity, and care. Years later, with a sewing machine gifted to me in fifth grade, I found myself returning to those roots.

After college, I began making clothing for myself: soft, functional, simple. When I had my daughter, it was only natural to begin sewing for her, too — but I quickly realized how fleeting baby sizes can be. Clothes that fit one day were packed away the next. I wanted to make garments that grew with her, that allowed for movement and mess, that stayed in the drawer instead of being tucked into a box of outgrown things.

So I began to design exactly that.
